A Second Chance for Shaggy

When Shaggy arrived at the rescue, he had a painful injury that tugged at our hearts. Part of his nostril was torn and hanging on, likely from getting his head stuck in wire—perhaps from a hanging bucket or a fence. It was clear he needed immediate care to heal and thrive.

The Rescue & Recovery

Dr. Metcalf stepped in to give Shaggy the care he deserved. After sedating him and numbing the area, Dr. Metcalf carefully removed the damaged tissue and sutured the wound closed. The procedure was quick, but the impact was life-changing.

As soon as the sutures were in, Shaggy did something that brought smiles to everyone’s faces—he walked away like a champ and rejoined his crew! His resilience and spirit were a reminder of why we do what we do.
