The Diagnosis That Changed Everything
Back in October 2022, Stryker was diagnosed with White Line Disease, a challenging hoof condition where the hoof wall separates and becomes infected. It’s a bit like foundering, but without inflammation. This made his feet unstable and required immediate attention.
Step One: Aggressive Treatment
Dr. Metcalf, our trusted veterinarian, got to work right away. He performed an aggressive hoof trim to remove the infected areas and started Stryker on a treatment plan. For three days, we soaked his feet in a powerful anti-fungal and anti-bacterial solution for 45 minutes. To stabilize his hooves, Stryker was fitted with supportive clogs.
Every Six Weeks: Steady Progress
The road to recovery required patience and consistent care. Every six weeks, Dr. Metcalf removed Stryker’s clogs, examined his progress, and applied new ones. It became a routine—a small price to pay for Stryker’s long-term health.
