One Month Later: Clementine's Progress

It’s been a month since Clementine trotted into our hearts, and her recovery has been nothing short of inspiring. Dr. Metcalf has been checking on her weekly, with video updates shared between visits. While progress has been steady, her journey required an important decision this week: a second tenotomy on her front left leg.

A Critical Procedure

During the procedure, Clementine was fully sedated. As soon as the tendon was cut, her flexibility improved noticeably, allowing her leg to begin moving toward the correct position. Dr. Metcalf wrapped her leg thoroughly and applied a custom splint to provide reinforcement and guidance.

Her front right hoof—once so severely curled and damaged—continues to grow into a healthier shape. A light trim, paired with a dental impression mold, offered her support and comfort while also guiding the hoof into proper alignment.

Seeing Immediate Results

The results have been incredible. Clementine was standing right after the procedure, and by the next morning, she was walking better than we’ve ever seen! Though her recovery is a gradual process, moments like these fill us with hope.

Clementine remains on antibiotics, pain medication, and stall rest, with continued care and monitoring from our team. Your support has been an integral part of her journey, and we’re so grateful for the encouragement you’ve shown this sweet pony. Stay tuned as Clementine continues to heal and thrive!
