Lucy didn’t finish her lunch and laid down in her stall. While a dose of Banamine helped her perk up a little, she still refused food and laid down again. With her recent history of a large colon impaction and dangerously high triglyceride levels, we knew it was best to take no chances and get her back to the hospital.
Full Examination
At the hospital, Dr. Chisholm performed a thorough exam. Bloodwork looked good overall, and while her triglycerides were still elevated, they were significantly improved compared to last month.
The exam revealed distended small intestines, mild dehydration, and dry manure—clear signs that Lucy needed closer monitoring and supportive care.
Treatment & Monitoring
Lucy was admitted and immediately started on fluids and oil therapy to support digestion and hydration. She will stay at the hospital until she fully perks up, ensuring she gets the best care and monitoring possible.
Hope & Patience
Lucy has been through a lot in the last month, but with careful monitoring, expert care, and a little rest, she’s on the path to feeling better. Our team will continue to provide updates as she recovers.
