Orion Finds His Forever Home (With Us!)

In August, we welcomed Orion to the Sanctuary as a foster for Singing Whales Rescue and Rehabilitation. He arrived in critical condition—starved, battling fluid buildup around his heart and chest, and suffering from excruciating hoof pain. His road to recovery was uncertain, but we were determined to give him every chance at a new life.

Fighting for a Second Chance

For months, Orion underwent intensive treatment, including a strict refeeding program and long-term antibiotics. Slowly but surely, he gained strength, his pain eased, and his spirit began to shine through. His transformation has been nothing short of incredible!

A Change in Plans

Originally, the goal was to rehabilitate Orion and send him to his forever home in Hawaii. However, a combination of transportation challenges and his ongoing need for specialized hoof care made rehoming difficult. That’s when Singing Whales approached us with a question that would change everything.

A Forever Home at the Sanctuary

Would we be willing to adopt Orion? The answer was simple: YES! Without hesitation, we knew he belonged here, surrounded by love and the expert care he needs.

Orion’s journey isn’t over, but now, he’ll walk it with us—forever home, forever safe.
