Saving Ten
Miss Jo’s Rescue Ranch lent all their helping hands last week – taking in over 10 severely malnourished horses from a rescue that was not able to properly care for their animals. Now at Miss Jo’s, these loveable gems are getting ample food, water, veterinary care (including proper worm treatment to get their gut health in check), hoof trimming and more – all basic necessities that hadn’t been done in a long time.
Surprisingly, these horses came from a rescue that had previously saved them from a kill pen, yet found themselves in over their head. It is very troubling, but some groups get overwhelmed by the immense cost of all the care, food and time it takes to keep farm animals healthy and happy. They wait far too long to reach out for assistance, and the animals suffer greatly - sometimes more so than before the group took them into their care. This was the situation, and when Miss Jo was asked to help, her team stepped up, ready to offer these deserving animals a third chance.
