When Lolly started squinting in his left eye and had noticeable discharge, the Sanctuary team brought him in to see Dr. Avery immediately. Eye issues can escalate quickly, and we wanted to make sure he got care before anything serious developed.
A Unique Diagnosis
After a full exam, including a glaucoma screening (all clear!), Dr. Avery performed a tear test and discovered something surprising: Lolly isn’t producing enough tears. He’s officially the first goat Dr. Avery has ever diagnosed with Dry Eye!
Supportive Care
We’ve started supportive care with a mix of eye medications and lubricating drops to keep Lolly’s eyes comfortable while we work on boosting his natural tear production. He’ll be retested in one week to see how the treatment is helping. The good news: no signs of infection, just irritation we’re managing proactively.
Holiday Cheer
Lolly ended his appointment by charming everyone into a festive photo op with the Christmas tree. He definitely stole the spotlight and reminded us that even doctor’s visits can have a little sparkle!
